Exosomes are small extracellular vesicles (EV) secreted from mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). They contain various bioactive molecules such as proteins and miRNA. They are involved in the cell to cell communication through the transmission of molecules, hence stimulating the healing and recovery process.
Moreover, exosomes are nano-sized (100-200 nm), thus, are able to penetrate through the skin and blood brain barrier. They are believed to have much stronger regenerative capacity. Other than infusion, the exosomes can be administered through several methods depending on the conditions.
